I’ve been saying this for years, particularly as an Albertan in a post-boom downturn. We’ve got welders, pipe-fitters, electricians, boilermakers, hydraulics experts, infrastructure engineers, all with not a whole lot to do. We were a booming tech education landscape and could be if we had some government support and focus to expand the economy to anything past oil and gas, but now there’s just nothing to do.

I think we should build giant anime robots.

Now hear me out, the future wars will be fought in space, against aliens, and we need to be prepared. Canada is already known for space robots, we have the infrastructure, we have the workforce, let’s just get started now.
